Fruit Parfait is a delicious and healthy breakfast perfect for busy mornings with layers of creamy yoghurt. It is made of your favorite fresh fruit topped with crunchy granola and strawberry. Home-made yoghurt Parfaits are a source of energy, packed with Protein, fibre, natural sugars and healthy fats that keeps you moving through out the day. This parfait recipe makes a beautiful yet simple, healthy, easy and amazing way to start the day! Let's get to it!

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cup Greek yoghurt (non-fat)
  • 1 cup chopped strawberries
  • 1/2 cup granola
  • 1 cup chopped apples
  • 1 chopped kiwi
  • 1/2 cup blueberries

DIRECTIONS

Layer the glass cups evenly by simply alternating layers of fruits and topping with scoops of yoghurt until the glass cups are filled. Below are the steps to follow to achieve your crunchy home-made Fruit Parfait.

  1. Place an even amount of strawberries at the bottom in each glass cup.

  9. Lastly, add an even quantity of granola at the top of both glasses.

Serve parfaits immediately or refrigerate until ready to eat. Enjoy!

HOW TO STORE FRUIT PARFAIT?

The parfaits can be assembled and covered in an air- tight container or jar. It can be refrigerated for up to 3 days. The granola will no longer be crunchy, it will soften to a chewy consistency.
It cannot be stored in the freezer.

TIPS AND SUBSTITIONS FOR A PERFECT FRUIT PARFAIT.

Variations on layering the parfaits, which berries to use, and how to assemble them are great ways to make them fresh and delicious. Parfaits are a tasty and light breakfast that are easy to mix up.

  • Types of granola: Any kind of crunchy granola will work for this recipe.
  • Fresh fruit: Fruit such as blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, or raspberries are perfect for a breakfast parfait. But you could add bananas, sliced grapes, pineapple, peaches, apples, mango and just about anything you like!
  • Yogurt choices: I love the Greek vanilla yogurt or plain greek yogurt, but you can use any type of yogurt or flavor you’d like! Any flavored yogurt, plain yogurt, greek yogurt, or creamy yogurt will work for this parfait.
  • Nuts: Add in an extra crunch with slivered almonds, chopped walnuts, peanuts, peanut butter, or Nutella for a great protein additive.
  • Toppings or Garnishing: Sprinkle with coconut, mini chocolate chips, chia seeds or a drizzle of honey or maple syrup or raspberry sauce. These are great ways to garnish the healthy breakfast parfaits.
  • Kid Approved: It is nourishing and healthy for children.
